Some interesting places – these open in a new tab
Ashly Audio Inc. – The company I started in 1974 and retired from in 2008. Ashly has done spectacular things since then, it makes me very proud!
Cakewalk – Maker of the excellent recording and music software I used to use for my live recording work. Sadly Gibson, the parent company pulled the plug but Bandlab has purchased the intellectual property and is now maintaining the software. Its now free too!
Voxengo – A small company producing some truly great, innovative, and reasonably priced audio plugins.
Eva Cassidy – A site dedicated to one of the most amazing musicians to ever grace our planet. A sad but inspiring story.
W3Schools – A really nice set of tutorials and lessons related to web development. Nice, interactive tools make learning things like HTML, PHP, and CSS much easier.
Earlevel Engineering – one of the best sites I’ve ever seen relating to digital audio. Its all here, sampling, dithering, filtering, etc. explained in a way that even I can understand it. A real education here, kudos to Nigel Redmon the author.
Reaper – A truly great Digital Audio Workstation that I now use for all my recording work, the brainchild of Justin Frankel who also created Winamp. Lean, mean, stable, and highly customizable and it even includes a built-in development environment for developing your own plugins. Don’t let the low price fool you!
DipTrace – A very good schematic capture and PCB layout program. Reasonable price for starter editions and also for upgrading for more complex needs. Excellent support via a friendly forum. I now use DipTrace for all my PCB work
